TAN Salus is a philanthropic initiative with the mission to improve people's lives by contributing to a health ecosystem with better quality, broader equity of access and more efficiency, through engagement and support for projects that explore innovation and technology to potentialize their impact.
TAN Salus is founded by values that guide us and that we believe are essential for our initiative to be perennial and to contribute positively to the human health ecosystem .
We invest in projects that promote engagement in the sector and initiatives that explore innovations and new technologies to improve quality, expand access and add efficiency to the health system.
What we do, what we don’t do, how we do it.
Our mission is to contribute to a health ecosystem with better quality, greater equity of access and more efficiency, through engagement and support for projects that explore innovation and technology to enhance their impacts.
We study projects around: (i) the organization, management and engagement of society in the sector; and (ii) the development and application of innovations and new technologies, always evaluating them for their potential impact on quality, equity of access and efficiency of the health sector.
We support entities of excellence that fit within our operating framework and we co-invest in projects promoted by these institutions.
We do not make charitable donations.
Every initiative must have the ambition to positively impact the performance dimensions of the ecosystem, that is, its quality, access and efficiency. We can contribute to local, regional or pilot projects, as long as there is potential for scalability and/ or replicability.
We do not make passive contributions. Although we do not demand to be able to influence the execution of projects, we expect mutual exchange and engagement, with the aim of adding value to the projects and exploring synergies with other initiatives.
We consider four dimensions of health: physical, mental, social and spiritual, which are cared through promotion, prevention and treatments, within a broad institutional and organizational context of the health system.
Initiatives are divided into (i) institutional and management solutions; and (ii) solutions for diseases or health conditions, which must aim at affecting: (i) the institutional context; (ii) the form of care, that is, promotion, prevention or treatment; and (iii) the influencing factors of individual health.
We are selective in our evaluation process and we support 1-3 new projects per year.

We act with utmost transparency. We can make judgment errors, but we always try not to repeat the same mistakes or break fundamental principles.
Deep engagement has the ability to generate knowledge, build productive and genuine relationships, and extract synergies between different sectors.
We believe that technology and innovation have enabling power. We believe in projects and research that leverage technology to maximize short- and long-term impact.
We seek to act with discipline, focus and diligence. We bet on those who believe in building with excellence and a long-term vision.
